On the road again!
I am in the chilly highlands of New England for a couple of days. Its been a big road-trip for Mick & I, taking in Moree (quick stop for a cuppa with a couple of cousins, checked out the two adorably cute new additions to the family, then onwards!), Goondiwindi (massive family reunion! We made it into the local paper), Peregian (ahh, lovely friends, lovely beach, lovely couple of days), Brisbane to drop off some pieces to one of my fave stockists, ThreadnBone Boutique in the Valley, and dinner with siblings, onwards early the next morning for a quick lunch in Coffs to see my grandparents & aunt & uncle. Sadly my grandfather wasn't well enough to see us so I missed out on him, very disappointing. Then back in the car to head for Moredun (outside Ben Lomond) for a couple of days with Mum & Dad, & my brother Roderick, who's just got back from a stint in the States. Tomorrow its on to Tamworth to see my nephews & neice - William is playing rugby, should be lots of fun to watch the under 7s - and then heading further south. Home again finally on Monday. Phew!

Brisbane visits, RAFW pretties & other stuff
Spent most of last week in Brisbane, for the launch of Thread'n'Bone on Wed night (it looks fabulous and is full of gorgeous things) and then media chats on Friday, at the lovely Shelter Bar at the Story Bridge Hotel. My sister lives across the road, and its my favourite pub in Brisbane. It was divine to be in a place where people are still enjoying a summery climate, wearing little more than shorts and tshirts. Autumn in Brisbane is lovely. I think I could quite happily spend the winter months in Queensland! We did a few photoshoots and had a few chats to various fashion editors and magazine types. Got into the Courier Mail on Sat, good shot of lovely model Ellie who spent the day with us, plus a little head shot of me in there too!
Got back to freezingness (aka Victoria) on Sat afternoon and went straight out to Paddy & Lu's farm near the Grampians. Its one of the most beautiful places to wake up in the world. They have a sheep paddock in front of the house with a huge old gumtree, and then its flat landscape until the Grampians rise straight up into the sky. Really beautiful. In fact, I have a photo of that tree standing in the paddock in front of their house - I'll show you what I mean.
I just love waking up and walking out to this. It just seems so quintessentially Australian, to me.Anyway, after a too-fast visit to the farm, back to Melbourne and a whirlwind of jewellery making for RAFW. I found out very late that I was to provide some pieces to accessorise part of the swimwear show happening on Wed (yes, tomorrow!) so had to really knuckle down and get busy. I couriered it all up there last night. Can't wait to see some shots - hopefully tomorrow! I'm following about a million twitterers who are tweeting from RAFW so I'm sure someone will post some pics. Hopefully some shots will show up on Fashionising too. I'll whip them up here as soon as any come to light. Its been a very busy & exciting week so far and looks set to continue!

Exploring
I've been wandering blogland and getting to know a bunch of other people that are out there doing lovely, interesting and exciting things.
It does mean I've been a bit relaxed about blogging myself, but that's OK coz I'm pretty busy at my workbench at the moment too. I've got two sets of the new collection to put together - one for Sydney and one for the new stockist I've just got in Brisbane. Hurrah!
But more about that in a moment. I've just got to mention a handful of these new blogs I've been exploring in case anyone is interested!
www.magnifeco.com does fantastic reviews of fabulous eco products. I started to browse and was hooked immediately. Just so beautiful!
I Found You I Melbourne is a really cute little joint project from a couple of girls in Melbourne talking of living there, loving there, making friends and occasionally getting carried away at the pub.
I've also started following Ten Dollar Meals In Melbourne because I'm a big fan of a cheap and cheerful restaurant :)
Style Melbourne is a great spot to keep an eye on what's going on in our stylish capital. Plus the girls there are divinely lovely human beings.
And I've really started to enjoy Sassi Sam - her writing just tickles me! Sam talks about all sorts of girly pop culture stuff.
Now, about that new stockist. Thread n Bone is a hot new boutique in Brisbane's most fashionable cool-kids destination - The Valley. (Fortitude Valley if you are ever looking for it on a map, but noone under sixty calls it that.) The brains behind this new venture is one of my absolute favourite couture artistes in Australia - Cyan Reign. Some of you avid Vogue readers would have caught a glimpse of Cyan's designs in last December's issue. I was thrilled when she called me up with an invitation to place my new collection in this boutique. I've had a few enquiries from people in Brisbane wanting to try on something from the new collection, and this is such a perfect destination for my work. The calibre of Cyan's design work is second to none, so I couldn't be happier with the association. The grand opening party is coming up next month, which means - yaaaay - a trip to Brisbane is on the cards. I haven't seen my brother and sisters who live up there since Christmas so I'm really thrilled to be able to head on up there. And - yes - I am a girl who loves a party. Look out Brisbane, here I come! But on that note, I have an enormous amount of work waiting for me in the workroom, so I must depart the laptop for a while. Au revoir!
