Patience is something I really need sometimes! I'm just going to look at these for a minute and remind myself that everything doesn't have to be "fast, fast, fast".

Tuesday's Artist
How awesome is this? I love the internet :) These incredible tiny works of art are by zen-master of patience, Dalton Ghetti. I had to share them with you guys.

My Charlie Girl
If you don't know Bec Winnel yet, please do get acquainted! A self-taught artist from country NSW, her dreamy style is (to me) somewhat reminiscent of Margaret Keane - only about a million times better - with a fresh and youthful approach that looks like it belongs both on a gallery wall and in the pages of your favourite fashion magazine. I love the focus on the "eyes as the window to the soul", whilst everything else gradually fades away.
In other news, I've just created a makeshift flower press (I used to have an AWESOME one as a young'un, however sadly its one of those things that got lost over time) to dry and flatten a bunch of rose petals to create some new rings YAY :)

Sarah Hickey's fabulous art has caught my eye
Oh so pretty, pretty, pretty! Look at Sarah Hickey's gorgeous works of art!

I love the work of this Brisbane-based artist, and when I do finally have some serious cash to splash on fabulous art to decorate my walls, this is one artist whom I plan to sponsor heavily. With a style that is situated somewhere between religious iconography and mid-twentieth century pin-up posters, I absolutely love the colour, shape and 'joie de vivre' her work exudes.
I guess I probably should check in with Mick about all art purchases before decorating our walls, but really, who wouldn't love a bit of this loveliness in their house?
I know I'm not the only one, as Barossa Belle has used four artworks from Sarah's Goddess series to decorate their wine. Heavenly!
You can click on any of the pics to be taken to the gallery they belong to on Sarah's website.

Please note: the fuzziness of some of these pics is entirely due to my poor quality images and are not what her work really looks like. You can see the clarity of the pics change where I have been able to get a good quality image from the artist.
And there's more! Mum & Dad visited to catch a bit of the tennis last week, and they brought with them some of the loveliest chocolate I've ever had. Rococo Rose is a fine dark chocolate infused with rose oil. YUM! I've never seen it before, and I have no idea if you can find it in Melbourne anywhere. I know you can purchase it online, and if you are a fan of unusual, delicious, organic chocolate, then you may certainly wish to try this!

Apocalypse Ahoy
Lwnski is a bloody great Melbourne artist whose particular brand of fantabulous creativity is being exhibited all over the world at the moment.Right now he is showing in London, New York, and Melbourne!
SO local Melbournites who love - nay, need to check out piping hot artists with an eye for the joy, beauty and humour all around us should get thee post-haste to Apocalypse Ahoy.
Its happening this Sat, 18 April 2009, 2-4pm, and I hear from a semi-reputable source that there will also be cake.
Its the last ever show to be held at the delightful Brunswick Bound, 361 Sydney Road, Brunswick. I'm not sure what the story is, but the upstairs exhibition space is finished for now - so not only will you get a chance to check out Lwnski's latest greatness, and eat cake, but you'll also be a part of history in the making.
Those of you who don't yet know Lwnski might like to cruise on over to his site to check out all the goodness on offer there. I am the proud displayer of some vintage Lwnski myself, and let me tell you its the single coolest thing in my house.
