I’m delighted to introduce the work of Tia Carrigan to you. Tia’s designs have seen her awarded the National Young Designer In Cotton Award which secured her a month-long internship with Italian fashion designer, Trussardi, in Milan, and she’s also taken out The Australian Wool Fashion Awards prestigious Supreme Excellence Award. I became aware of the cutting edge clothing label tiacarrigan last year, and some of you may remember Tia’s designs (adorned with some Joolz accessories) on the catwalk for Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival 2008.One lucky subscriber has the chance to win this fabulous Tia Carrigan Cuprina bodysuit in her gorgeous ‘firefly’ colour with lovely bow detailing on one shoulder - available in small, medium and large. It is perfect with jeans, and is easily dressed up with a full length skirt and some chunky bangles. Joolz is involved in three events for this year’s Spring Fashion Week in Melbourne.Details for each one are listed below.
The Spirit of the Black DressTime: 18:00 - 20:00
Location: Georges

The Opening Gala for the Spirit of the Black Dress Exhibition is a champagne evening to preview the work of emerging fashion talent. This event marks the start of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and will bring together Australia's established fashion community to celebrate our diverse talent.
Fashion and textile designers were asked to submit their interpretation of a contemporary black dress, to be judged by a panel of industry experts. Ten successful applicants have been chosen to have their garments professionally photographed and displayed in Georges on Collins for the duration of the Festival. (Unfortunately I can’t give you a sneak peek at our dress, which I created in collaboration with the very talented Claire Djuve – but I can show you a headshot of our very glamorous Nina who modelled the dress for our submission shots) and thanks also to Monique Gow, MUA & Leila Morrissey, photographer for your fabulous work on the shoot.

Fashionising’s High Fashion, High Tea 09

A fusion of an afternoon tea and a fashion event, High Fashion, High Tea 2009 will present Spring/Summer 2009 fashion from the likes of Nicola Finetti, Antonia Paris, Cyan Reign, Gwendolynne Burkin, Joolz, St. Augustine Academy, and Subfusco.
Miss Green’s Garden PartyTime: 12:30 - 16:00
Location: The Willows
Street: 462 St Kilda Road
Miss Green’s Garden Party is an eco-minded fashion event that will be held in the lush surrounds of The Willows. Local established and emerging designers have designed an outfit worthy of the Spring Racing Carnival exclusively for the event. The difference is they must be created using only eco-friendly materials.
The “For Sale” section this week showcases some brand new Joolz designs: two in sterling silver, and one Joolz Pandora bracelet. Please note: these are ‘trial’ designs, which means there are only three of each available at this stage to see how they go. If you like them, then we’ll go into production with them – so the decision rests entirely with my subscribers!
